Environmental, Social, and Governance Program

At Bestway, we believe that we have an important role to play in enabling and supporting the environment, including the reduction in global carbon emissions. We believe that Bestway has a responsibility toward the care of its employees and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to a more sustainable planet and each of these responsibilities benefits all our customers, suppliers, and employees. Our business strategy is aligned with these stated values. We aim to strategically manage the company with the changing energy landscape, in order to provide services which aid in the challenges and opportunities society faces.

Environmental Protection

At Bestway, we believe that climate change is one of the most pressing challenges we face today. Therefore, we use a complex process to understand the aspects of our business and the environmental impact of our activities in order to avoid, reduce or correct adverse effects on the ecosystem and on our community.

Trees & Bees Project

In 2022, we plan to launch an ambitious “Trees and Bees” project to compensate for the impact of our business on the planet to reduce our carbon footprint.

Sustainable Energy

At Bestway, we will align our business strategy and service offerings, to the fullest extent possible, to support the need to reduce global Greenhouse Gas (“GHG”) emissions. We expect to complete a third-party report on Carbon Emissions prior to the end of 2022 and post the results to our website located at www.bestwayoilfield.com We use our expertise and capabilities to support and enable the efficient use of power from renewable sources at each of our facilities. All our facilities in the State of Texas have committed to purchasing all the electricity from renewable sources by 2022.

Water Management

At Bestway, we support the efficient use of fresh water. We will carefully study how we use fresh water through detailed records of our water usage, analyze this data and create a mitigation plan to reduce fresh water consumption for 2022. Wastewater: we are a zero-discharge facility, with a water management and recycle program.

Plastic & Waste Materials Management

To make a positive impact on the environment, we adopted a program to reduce the amount of heavy garbage collected at the facilities. By consolidating our waste through the  process of compaction, we have reduced the amount of collection periods by 66%. At the end of 2021, we will enact a program to guarantee that all generated regulated waste such as fluorescent lamps and A + batteries will be properly disposed of or recycled. In 2022, we will launch a plastic recycling program to reduce the impact of unwanted pollutants on our planet.

Conflict-Free Minerals Policy

Bestway is committed to ensure that sourcing minerals (tin, tantalum, tungsten, gold) that might be contained in our products are sourced with due respect for human rights, the need to avoid contributing to conflict, and the desire to support development through our supply chain practices. We understand that our suppliers may not be able to guarantee that the delivered parts are conflict-free, but ask to identify smelters in a common supply chain, which is a necessary step in determining the source and chain of custody of the minerals in our products. At the same time, Bestway does not ban the use of these minerals that originate in conflict-affected and high-risk areas when they are sourced in accordance with existing international standards. Avoiding the sourcing of all minerals from these areas would cause a de facto embargo with serious adverse impact on the living conditions of local populations.

2. Social

Social

At Bestway, we value diversity and offer equal opportunities for all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, including pregnancy, gender identity and sexual orientation, national origin, age, or disability. Our company’s strength is our people. Each of our team members make their own unique contribution to our collective good of our mission, and we recognize and appreciate each employee’s commitment.

Safety

Safety is our top priority. We conduct our business in a manner that helps protect our employees, contractors,  and our customers, as well as the community where we operate. Our approach to safety includes identifying potential risks, taking actions to prevent potential incidents, and educating employees and customers about unsafe behaviors.

Equality

Our commitment to equality is fundamental to our operations, reinforced by training and integration into our policies and practices.

Community Involvement

We work closely with local communities to identify investment opportunities that promote local economic growth and improve social conditions. We have partnered with our local chamber of commerce and international rotory to achieve our mission. Due to the pandemic, many plans have changed or have been postponed. However, despite heavy financial losses, we have found ways to retain 90% of our employees in some capacity so they could continue to provide for their families.

Health

Here at Bestway, we support the health of our employees by offering affordable personal and family health insurance with flexible plans to meet the needs of the team. We have done our utmost to protect our employees from the COVID-19 pandemic. Twice a week the facilities undergo a deep clean, information about the virus is closely monitored and disseminated to the employees, and the measures in place adjust to always be in-line with CDC recommendations and local government guidance.

ETHICAL CONDUCT

Bestway is accountable to its Board of Directors, clients, business associates, its employees and their families, and to the communities where Bestway employees work and live. Bestway expects its employees to abide by ethical business practices in all situations and circumstances, regardless of local culture or business climate, and regardless of the competitive environment in which Bestway may find itself. These ethical business practices help promote the company’s strategy as it seeks to grow its business and bring value both financially and ethically to stakeholders. Our policy provides a consistent, company-wide statement of its business practices and workplace conduct, and thereby establishes the expectations, obligations, and responsibilities of its employees. Our policy cannot address every ethical challenge the company and its employees may face, but the principles outlined herein are intended to be guideposts that can apply to a wide range of circumstances. Bestway’s reputation for acting ethically and responsibly is built one decision at a time, every day, by each employee. This and other company policies give employees information to perform their jobs ethically. Each employee is responsible to know and comply with the policies that apply to the work they do and the decisions they make. Each employee, especially leaders and managers, must act with integrity and inspire trust. Management has the added responsibility for creating an open work environment where employees feel comfortable raising concerns and demonstrating, through their actions, the importance of ethical conduct. Again, ethical behavior does not simply happen; it is the product of clear and direct communication of behavioral expectations, modeled from the top and demonstrated by example. Ultimately, actions are what matters. Managers must be responsible for promptly addressing ethical questions or concerns raised by employees and for taking the appropriate steps to deal with such issues. Managers should not consider employees’ ethics concerns as threats or challenges to their authority, but rather as another encouraged form of business communication. Bestway wants the ethics dialogue to become a natural part of daily work.
